Last week at Bristol, Austin Hill and Sam Mayer both got into incidents with their own teammates on the track. Hill was wrecked by Sheldon Creed, his RCR teammate. Meanwhile, Mayer saw his NASCAR<\/a> race end after contact with Josh Berry. Brandon Jones was also involved in that making it a JR Motorsports trifecta. <\/p>\n

Before he took to the track for qualifying, Austin Hill made it known, he\u2019s not like Sam Mayer. When it comes to on-track incidents like last week, no big deal. Hill and Creed are buddies on and off the track and they\u2019ve already worked past it. <\/p>\n

Mayer made a strange comment about Berry not making a \u201cveteran\u201d move <\/a>on the track. It caused a bit of controversy and people wonder if the teammates even like one another. <\/p>\n

Austin Hill and his teammate \u2013 just fine.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re heated after these races, playoff are here so intensity\u2019s high,\u201d Hill said to the NBC broadcast<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019re going to be mad about situations, but Sheldon and I are really good friends off the racetrack. We hang out on Sundays a lot of the times after a race weekend. So we\u2019re good. We had a really nice chat on Monday kind of just talked about the situation on things he saw, things I saw on what happened and what we can do to be better going forward. Love having him as a teammate, no hard feelings nothing like that. We\u2019re good man, I promise you that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He finished by saying<\/a>, \u201cWe\u2019re good. We can handle it like men\u2026 We\u2019re not Sam Mayer by any means.\u201d <\/p>\n

NASCAR cut off that Mayer comment in the video below, but it was loud and clear on TV. <\/p>\n

Austin Hill qualifies ahead of Sam Mayer<\/h2>\n

In case you want to see any action between Austin Hill and Sam Mayer, you are in luck. The two are going to start today\u2019s race very close to one another. In fact, we might see them racing hard throughout the afternoon\u2019s race on Saturday. <\/p>\n

Justin Allgaier won the pole award for qualifying.<\/a> He was followed by Trevor Bayne, Cole Custer, Josh Berry, Austin Hill, and Sam Mayer. That means the 21 and 1 are going to be on Row 3 to begin this Xfinity Series race. <\/p>\n

Hill is a favorite for the Xfinity Series championship. His RCR team has been great on superspeedways and these intermediate tracks. He\u2019s aggressive at times, but it has paid off for the most part. Four wins on the year and a slew of top-5s, Hill has taken a huge step forward this season. <\/p>\n

Never afraid to speak his mind, or let his hands do the talking, Austin Hill is probably fine talking all the smack he wants. I\u2019m not sure anyone is going to get in his face about it, friend or foe. <\/p>\n
