Greenville (S.C.) three-star interior offensive lineman Blake Franks<\/a><\/strong> has announced his commitment to South Carolina<\/a><\/strong>. He chose the Gamecocks over Alabama<\/a><\/strong>, Clemson<\/a><\/strong> and Miami<\/a><\/strong> among others. <\/p>\n

Franks is the No. 521 overall prospect and No. 35 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 7 player in South Carolina. <\/p>\n

\u201cI love it,\u201d Franks told Wes Mitchell of GamecockCentral about his connection with South Carolina offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cHe is a cool guy and I know he deserved the promotion. I\u2019m happy for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Franks is the latest member of the Gamecocks\u2019 top-10 2024 recruiting class<\/a>. It also includes Dorchester (S.C.) Woodland four-star offensive tackle\u00a0Kam Pringle<\/a><\/strong>, Greenville (S.C.) four-star athlete Mazeo Bennett<\/a><\/strong>, Marietta (Ga.) Walton four-star linebacker\u00a0Wendell Gregory<\/a><\/strong>, Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day School four-star tight end Michael Smith<\/a><\/strong> and Fiskdale (Mass.) The Loomis Chaffee School four-star quarterback\u00a0Dante Reno<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Landing Franks, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound recruit, gives head coach Shane Beamer<\/a><\/strong> and his staff pledges from three of the top seven players in South Carolina. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine<\/a><\/strong>, the Gamecocks also have a commanding lead for Dillon (S.C.) four-star offensive tackle Josiah Thompson<\/a><\/strong>, who is committing on April 14<\/a>, at 96.6%<\/p>\n

Thompson is the No. 52 overall prospect and No. 4 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking<\/strong><\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in South Carolina. <\/p>\n

On3 rates Thompson higher than other recruiting services, according to the\u00a0Industry Comparison<\/a>. Per the\u00a02024 On300<\/a><\/strong>, he is the\u00a0No. 19 overall prospect, No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 1 player in South Carolina.<\/p>\n
