Early in his first game with the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers<\/a><\/strong> went down with a severe Achilles injury<\/a>. With that, has come a fury of speculation about what the Jets may do to replace him, including calling Tom Brady<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One person who thinks the Jets should go after Brady is former tight end Shannon Sharpe<\/a><\/strong>. On First Take<\/em>, Sharpe shared why he thinks the Jets should at least give Brady a call.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh man, I\u2019m calling Tom Brady,\u201d Shannon Sharpe said<\/a>. \u201cSeriously, I am going to put a call into Tom Brady.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these other guys, I understand that. [Carson] Wentz<\/a><\/strong> is available and Nick Foles<\/a><\/strong> is available and maybe you can get Matt Ryan<\/a><\/strong> to come up out of the booth with CBS. I\u2019m calling Tom. \u2018Tom, seriously. We\u2019ve got $25 million on the table for you. Can you come give us something?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Notably, this conversation came before the news that Aaron Rodgers would be out for the season was official. It was just held under the assumption that would be happening. It also included the assumption that former second overall pick Zach Wilson<\/a><\/strong> isn\u2019t the guy. <\/p>\n

Of course, Tom Brady returning to play for the New York Jets would be awkward, to say the least. He spent the vast majority of his career in New England, playing for one of New York\u2019s chief rivals. There, he won six Super Bowls and generally made life difficult for the Jets. <\/p>\n

During Week 1, the Patriots welcomed Brady back to New England. There, he was the first \u201ckeeper of the light\u201d<\/a> and was honored with a ceremony at halftime<\/a>. That included the announcement that he\u2019d be going into the team\u2019s Hall of Fame<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Brady retired as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, twice, after coming out of retirement once to make another go of it. So, it\u2019s not impossible for him to come out of retirement again. However, it does seem unlikely.<\/p>\n

At this point, Tom Brady may not even have the time to play in the NFL<\/a><\/strong> again. After all, in his retirement, he\u2019s seemingly busier than ever with all of his new business deals. <\/p>\n

Among those deals are plans to work at Fox as a broadcaster<\/a>, which should be happening at some point down the road. He also recently joined Delta Airlines<\/a> in what\u2019s being called a strategic advisor role. <\/p>\n

Brady is even involved in sports as an owner, having purchased an ownership stake<\/a> in the Las Vegas Raiders and Birmingham City FC<\/a>. <\/p>\n
