McCalla (Ala.) McAdory four-star tight end JaCorey Whitted<\/a><\/strong> has committed to Mississippi State<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

He chose the Bulldogs while holding offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M. <\/p>\n

Whitted is the No. 317 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/strong><\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He\u2019s also the No. 22 tight end and No. 15 player in Alabama. <\/p>\n

The blue-chip tight end had taken multiple visits all around the South, but ultimately settled on Zach Arnett and the Bulldogs. He\u2019s now the fourth highest-ranked commit in Miss State\u2019s class, checking in behind Sardis (Miss.) North Panola four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell<\/a><\/strong>, Mississippi native and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star interior offensive lineman Jimothy Lewis<\/a><\/strong> and Starkville (Miss.) four-star wide receiver Braylon Burnside<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Whitted does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry\u2019s leading index that sets high school and college athletes\u2019 projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete\u2019s value at a certain moment in time.<\/p>\n

Miss State owns top-30 recruiting class<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As Arnett and Co. look to get the Bulldogs back on track, their 2024 recruiting class continues to build. Mississippi State\u2019s pledge list now features 16 names and is No. 28 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking<\/a><\/strong>. That\u2019s good enough for 13th in the SEC, ahead of Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt. <\/p>\n

Mississippi State\u2019s class is built on in-state recruiting. Of the 16 commits, nine hail from the Magnolia State. Behind the aforementioned trio, the Bulldogs\u2019 class is bolstered by Lexington Holmes Country Central four-star defensive lineman Terrance Hibler<\/a><\/strong>, Hattiesburg Oak Grove three-star athlete PJ Woodland<\/a><\/strong>, Brookhaven three-star athlete Xavier Gayten<\/a><\/strong>, Vicksburg three-star EDGE Tyler Carter<\/a><\/strong> and Winona Secondary teammates IOL Tyler Lockhart<\/a><\/strong> and linebacker Fred Clark<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Other pieces include Mobile (Ala.) Baker three-star quarterback Josh Flowers<\/a><\/strong>, Arnaudville (La.) Beau Chene three-star WR Matt Mayfield<\/a><\/strong> and Memphis Lausanne Collegiate three-star offensive tackle Luke Work<\/a><\/strong>. Miss State is working off of a 2023 class that ranked No. 22 in the nation and No. 9 in the SEC. <\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s class featured 27 commits, highlighted by top-200 in-state safety Isaac Smith<\/a><\/strong>. He ranked as the No. 157 overall prospect, No. 12 safety and No. 4 player from Mississippi. <\/p>\n
