Everyone is talking transfer portal right now. It has only been open for less than two weeks, and there are already over 1,000 players who have submitted their names to the D-I portal. Even in college basketball\u2019s quest to get old and stay old, there is still a place for high school kids in the recruiting process. The 2023 On3 Industry Ranking top 100 has four player who remains uncommitted.<\/p>\n
Every player\u2019s path is different, and as we approach the end of the college basketball season, let\u2019s go through the top available high school prospects.<\/p>\n
Height\/weight: 6-3\/190 The skinny<\/strong>: Bronny James<\/a><\/strong>, the son of NBA all-time leading scorer LeBron James<\/a>, has been most closely tied to Southern California<\/em><\/strong>, Oregon<\/em><\/strong>, and Ohio State<\/strong><\/em>. The 6-foot-3 guard has one recorded visit, an unofficial to Ohio State<\/em><\/strong>. Memphis<\/em><\/strong> has also offered. James finished last week\u2019s McDonald\u2019s All-American<\/a> game with 15 points.<\/p>\n Height\/weight: 6-5\/175 The skinny<\/strong>: Garwey Dual <\/a><\/strong>originally committed to Providence<\/strong><\/em> and then head coach Ed Cooley.<\/a> He did not sign during the early signing period. When Cooley recently took the head job at Georgetown<\/strong><\/em>, Dual de-committed from Providence<\/em><\/strong>. The four-star point guard has since taken official visits to St. John\u2019s<\/em><\/strong> and Georgetown<\/em><\/strong>. Dayton<\/em><\/strong> is also involved here.<\/p>\n Height\/weight: 6-10\/195 The skinny<\/strong>: Carey Booth<\/a><\/strong> committed and signed with Micah Shrewsberry<\/a> at Penn State<\/em><\/strong>. Last week, Booth asked to be released from his national letter of intent. Shrewsberry is now the head coach at Notre Dame<\/em><\/strong>, will Booth follow? It should also be noted that Booth\u2019s father, Calvin Booth<\/a>, is the all-time blocked shots leader at Penn State<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n Height\/weight: 6-4\/180 The skinny<\/strong>: Blue Cain<\/a><\/strong> committed to Josh Pastner<\/em> at Georgia Tech<\/strong><\/em> in June. Last month, Georgia Tech<\/em><\/strong> and Pastner parted ways. Cain asked for his release and opened his recruitment back up. Yale was the runner-up the first go around. Georgia<\/em><\/strong>, Virginia<\/em><\/strong>, South Carolina<\/strong><\/em>, Nebraska<\/strong><\/em>, and Kansas<\/strong><\/em> checked in as well.
