IMG Academy star Jordan Seaton.

The Gators are a major player in his recruitment and expected to receive an official visit from the top-100 prospect next weekend. That visit could certainly impact his recruitment as a whole; however, plenty of additional schools are in the mix and will also play host.

If you are Florida, you cannot put all your eggs into one basket. Nothing is guaranteed in recruiting, especially when it comes to elite prospects in the NIL era and when you have an unlimited amount of official visits. We are over three months away from the Early Signing Period as well.

And because all of that, UF is still evaluating and sent out another offer on Tuesday.

It was for 6-foot-7, 250-pound Kalolo Ta’aga, a first-year player who is committed to San Jose State.

“I don’t know too much, but Florida I know is hot and humid,” Ta’aga told Gators Online. “I spoke with Buster Davis this morning and he says it’s like family there, so when we visit, we will see what it’s like.

“Overall, I felt a warm welcome from the recruiters. I still have to speak to the offensive line coaches (Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton).”

Will Florida receive a visit?

Ross Bares, who takes on the role of quality control personnel, is the Gators staff member who extended the scholarship offer. He was a player personnel assistant last season after spending the 2021 season in the same role at Louisiana. Prior to that, he spent time at LSU, his alma mater.

“He is a great person, you know? Messages with respect and nothing less. I already new I had a warm welcoming,” said Ta’aga.

While a trip to Gainesville is not finalized, Ta’aga says UF fans will likely see him on campus at some point.

“As of now, no, but maybe toward the end of our season,” Ta’aga said of visiting the Gators.

SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEWSLETTER AND GET BREAKING NEWS SENT FOR FREE!

Ta’aga is transforming into a national recruit

Hailing from Palo Alto (Cali.) Archbishop Riordan, Ta’aga committed to San Jose State on July 31 despite holding offers from several Power Five programs. That is because the Spartans’ campus is just roughly 30 minutes from his home.

However, earning an SEC offer from a school like Florida is a different type of conversation and Ta’aga knows that. Going forward, the Gators “definitely will be a consideration.”

Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Utah State and UNLV are some additional offers on the table.

“I am in a blessed position. All thanks and glory goes to God. Only thing we can do now is work and keep grinding until the time comes,” said Ta’aga.

Stay tuned to Gators Online.

The post Florida Gators take next step with first-year offensive lineman committed elsewhere appeared first on On3.

There is no doubt which offensive lineman is the top remaining priority for the Gators….

[1

post-15808","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
