Florida State is the overwhelming favorite to land Miami (Fla.) Norland four-star cornerback Jamari Howard<\/a><\/strong>, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The RPM gives the Seminoles an 85% chance of receiving Howard\u2019s commitment. Michigan State sits in a distant second at 4.7% \u2014\u00a0he decommitted from the Spartans back in May after initially pledging to Michigan State in fall 2022.<\/p>\n

Howard is the nation\u2019s No. 124 overall prospect and No. 15 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 19 player in Florida.<\/p>\n

Howard\u2019s latest visit to Tallahassee came in late July after taking an unofficial visit in March. After that March visit, he told Warchant.com<\/strong> that Mike Norvell and the Florida State staff made an impression.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything was smooth. Everything was cool, everything was good,\u201d Howard said after his visit<\/a>. \u201cGot to meet Mike Norvell again. I got to see a lot of what they do in practice and how they do their thing. Got to see a lot of new stuff in the facility.\u201d<\/p>\n

Howard also complimented Norvell\u2019s coaching style.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a great coach,\u201d Howard said. \u201cHe\u2019s blood raw with you, he\u2019s not going to sugarcoat anything. \u2026 He was giving it to me raw \u2014 how he really wants to coach me and everything. He wants to produce me and get me to the next level.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel great about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamari Howard scouting summary<\/h2>\n

\u201cLong and rangy two-way player who turns whatever side of the field he is on into an island when playing corner. Measures in at 6-foot-1.5, 175 pounds with a freakish 6-foot-8 wingspan. Jumped a 31-inch vertical and ran a solid 7.30 3-cone during the spring camp circuit prior to his junior season. Ran a 22.80 200m as well as a blistering 49.71 400m during his sophomore track and field season. Uses his length to manhandle receivers off the line of scrimmage. Has the recovery speed to get back in phase with receivers to make a play on the ball. Will naturally fill out his frame as he physically develops.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Florida State has elite 2024 class<\/h2>\n

Florida State currently ranks No. 5 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The \u2018Noles hold commitments from three five-star prospects and another nine four-star commits.<\/p>\n

Buford (Ga.) Five-Star Plus+ safety KJ Bolden, Venice (Fla.) five-star cornerback Charles Lester III and Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County five-star tight end Landen Thomas headline the class.<\/p>\n
