2025 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide receiver\u00a0Marcus Harris<\/a><\/strong> dropped his top 12 schools list on Tuesday and Texas made the cut. <\/p>\n

The Longhorns did a tremendous job<\/a> with the 6-foot-1, 170-pound On3 four-star during an unofficial visit in late July with Mater Dei teammates and Texas targets, including 2025 On3 four-star tailback Jordon Davison<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Sark was great,\u201d Harris told Inside Texas following the trip. \u201cHe\u2019s a very humble guy and I look forward to building a good relationship with him because it\u2019s always great to hear from coaches like him that have been around some of the best players in the world. Coach\u00a0(Chris) Jackson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has had so much experience with NFL guys, I know he will give me the tools I need to get to the next level.\u201c<\/p>\n

Harris also named Tennessee, Georgia, Penn State, Oklahoma, Miami, Auburn, Oregon, Washington, Texas A&M and Florida as the remaining 11 programs under his consideration. He\u2019ll see the Nittany Lions on September 23rd.<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition to Harris and Davison, Texas is currently recruiting Mater Dei talents OL Brandon Baker<\/a><\/strong>, OL Deandre Carter<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0EDGEs Shaun Scott<\/a> <\/strong>and Daryus Dixon<\/a><\/strong>, and\u00a0DB Kayden Dixon-Wyatt<\/a><\/strong>. Harris also has ties to Texas players from Mater Dei in former teammates\u00a0Spencer Shannon<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Brady Sarkisian<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Harris holds double-digit offers from schools like Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Washington, Wisconsin and others. He had a fantastic sophomore campaign for Mater Dei in 2022, which caught the attention of many of the nation\u2019s best colleges. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s early, but the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine likes the Longhorns with a 28.3<\/em> percent chance of landing Harris. Oregon (16.8 <\/em>percent) and OU (14.4 <\/em>percent) are running second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n

The Santa Ana, Calif., recruit is ranked as the No. 32 overall prospect, the No. 6 wide receiver, and the No. 3 player in California per the\u00a02025 On300<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The On3 Industry Ranking has him pegged as the No. 43 overall prospect, the No. 6 wide receiver, and the No. 5 player in California.<\/p>\n
