On Monday, the UT head coach discussed Milton\u2019s path to the 2023 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited for him,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eeTgxutLulk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heupel said<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s a guy that did it the right way. When it didn\u2019t go his way early on, he looked at himself, here\u2019s how I need to continue to improve to get better. He trusted his coaches, his program, believed in the guys around him too inside of the locker room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s put himself in a position to play at a really high level because of the work ethic that he\u2019s had inside of our program,\u201d Heupel said. \u201cHe\u2019s become very mature in who he is, what he\u2019s about, how he\u2019s going to work, how he\u2019s going to impact his teammates in a leadership role. It\u2019s not just going into the Orange Bowl. He\u2019s been that guy for a very long time inside our program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s someone who\u2019s continued to grow and has a great understanding of defensive alignments, which allows us to communicate and adjust really quickly with him. I think that\u2019s really important.
