Carson Beck<\/a><\/strong> is officially Georgia<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s starting quarterback, and ready for the rigors that comes with that.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the 2023 campaign, Beck took some time to recall the conversation where he was named the team\u2019s starting quarterback, and how the entire process shook out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conversation was just very simple, it was straightforward,\u201d explained Beck<\/a>. \u201cHe told us all what was going to happen, and I don\u2019t think it changed much, at least in my mindset. I think we\u2019ve all performed really well during fall camp.<\/p>\n

\u201d But it is good to like know that you\u2019re the guy, but it hasn\u2019t changed my approach towards practice, or my approach towards watching film or anything of that sort, so it\u2019s all maintain the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alas, there wasn\u2019t much pomp and circumstance surrounding the decision, just a simple business move that both Beck and the Bulldogs hopes pays off in spades for both sides.<\/p>\n

Georgia is looking for a three-peat, and they believe Carson Beck will give them the best shot to achieve that goal. It remains to be seen if they\u2019re right, but the young quarterback will have his shot.<\/p>\n

Kirby Smart shares why Carson Beck is ready to be Georgia\u2019s starting quarterback<\/h2>\n

As\u00a0Georgia<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0heads into the 2023 season it does so needing to replace starting quarterback\u00a0Stetson Bennett<\/a><\/strong>, and all hopes are on the shoulders of\u00a0Carson Beck<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Beck feels prepared for it now, where a younger version of him might have been too influenced by every twist and turn in his journey along the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe keeps his emotions in check and he told me, he said, \u2018I\u2019ve been that way since a young kid where I was very volatile as a baseball player,\u2019\u201d coach\u00a0Kirby Smart<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0said on\u00a0ESPN\u2019s College Football channel on YouTube<\/a>. \u201cHe was a really talented baseball player. Committed to the University of\u00a0Florida<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for baseball in high school and then decided to go the football route. He\u2019s different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beck did indeed end up at Florida\u2019s rival, where he\u2019ll be looking to keep the Bulldogs firmly entrenched atop their post high above the college football world. There are back-to-back national championships to defend.<\/p>\n

If that\u2019s going to happen, Beck will have to be really, really good.<\/p>\n

The good news is that Smart certainly seems to believe that\u2019s not only possible, but likely. He\u2019s got a lot of confidence in his new starting quarterback, as does the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlayers really enjoy him,\u201d Smart said. \u201cThey rally around him. He has a way with the skill players. Calm, cool, collected and poised in the pocket.\u201d<\/p>\n

To date Carson Beck is 36-of-58 passing for 486 yards, with six touchdowns and two interceptions. So to say his workload as the starting quarterback will be ramped up quite a bit in 2023 is putting it mildly.<\/p>\n
