Over the weekend, the Texas Longhorns<\/a><\/strong> held a team scrimmage. For head coach Steve Sarkisian<\/a><\/strong>, the play of starting quarterback Quinn Ewers<\/a><\/strong> stood out.<\/p>\n

Sarkisian explained that Ewers was impressive throughout the scrimmage, and even the mistakes he made weren\u2019t entirely his fault.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought Quinn played really well,\u201d Steve Sarkisian said<\/a>. \u201cHe had a really good day.\u201d <\/p>\n

Ultimately, Quinn Ewers did make mistakes. However, what impressed Sarkisian was his ability to bounce back from those mistakes later in the scrimmage. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, it\u2019s unfortunate, the interception in two-minute was not on him, but that\u2019s rapport with his receivers that we need to keep working on. But I thought he was really efficient. There was a moment there where the defense had a really good period. We had a third down, fourth down competition, the defense had a good period but I thought Quinn really rebounded in the backed-up segment, the goal line segment, and our red area period. So, that was good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Quinn Ewers wasn\u2019t the only quarterback who impressed Steve Sarkisian, though. In particular, the athleticism of freshman quarterback Arch Manning<\/a><\/strong> was on full display. Sarkisian claimed that Texas clocked the young star running at 20 mph<\/a> during the scrimmage. He may not be the starter, but the future of the quarterback position is bright.<\/p>\n

On top of Arch Manning, Maalik Murphy<\/a><\/strong>, the third notable quarterback on Texas\u2019 roster, also impressed Steve Sarkisian in the scrimmage. So, Quinn Ewers knows he needs to play consistently once the season comes because the Longhorns have some great options behind him. <\/p>\n

Quinn Ewers on the changes in Texas\u2019 offense without Bijan Robinson<\/h2>\n

Last season, the Texas offense had a star running back in Bijan Robinson<\/a><\/strong>. He was a game changing running back that the offense could consistently rely on. However, he\u2019s in the NFL<\/a><\/strong> now and the Texas offense needs to adapt to life without him.<\/p>\n

Quinn Ewers explained some of the changes that the offense is going through.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a good question,\u201d\u00a0Ewers said<\/a>. \u201cOffenses, they change every year. We lose guys, we gained guys. Bijan, he\u2019s a generational talent. I\u2019m so fired up to see what he does for the Falcons this year. We won\u2019t have that guy in our backfield, but depth we have in that room is unreal. We\u2019re going to have guys that are able to make some similar plays that he did last year and the years before. I\u2019m excited.\u201d<\/p>\n
