Neither the NFL or college football season has officially begun, but Texas Longhorns<\/a><\/strong> fans are already being given a top-tier memory. <\/p>\n

Some of their best over the last couple of seasons linked up following the preseason game between the Arizona Cardinals<\/strong> and Denver Broncos<\/strong> over the weekend. Five former Longhorns posed for a photo after the game, with legendary Texas quarterback Colt McCoy<\/a><\/strong> in the center of it all. <\/p>\n

Check out the photograph below, which the Texas Football twitter account fittingly captioned, \u201cLonghorns for life.\u201d<\/p>\n

From left to right, you can see former Longhorns Lil\u2019Jordan Humphrey<\/a><\/strong>, PJ Locke<\/a><\/strong>, the aforementioned McCoy, Caden Sterns<\/a><\/strong> and Kris Boyd<\/a><\/strong>. That\u2019s an impressive collection of former Longhorns talents, and one that\u2019ll bring a smile to the face of any Texas fan.<\/p>\n

Continuing, the former Longhorns in the NFL will be hoping Texas can take the next step towards a return to relevancy in 2023. While they\u2019ll always bleed burnt orange, there\u2019s been a couple of tough seasons over the last couple of years that some in this group have been a part of, so watching a turnaround would certainly warm their hearts.<\/p>\n

While they\u2019re in the NFL now, you can bet they\u2019ll be watching to see if Steve Sarkisian and Texas can shock the world this season. Only time will tell.<\/p>\n

Texas making the College Football Playoff would be \u2018huge for the sport,\u2019 Joel Klatt says<\/h2>\n

Meanwhile, make no mistake about it,\u00a0Texas<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0being \u201cback\u201d would be great for the sport. What does \u201cback\u201d look like? Making the College Football Playoff fresh off a Big 12 title, according to Joel Klatt. <\/p>\n

This team is talented enough to do it, so said the Fox Sports analyst earlier this offseason.<\/p>\n

With Quinn Ewers under center, talent around him on offense, an improving defense and head coach Steve Sarkisian in Year 3, the blueprint is there for a tremendous season.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, it would be huge for the sport,\u201d\u00a0Klatt said on\u00a0The Herd<\/em>.<\/a>\u00a0\u201cTexas is the most underachieving roster in college football over the last five years \u2026 I saw Quinn and chatted with him just a couple of weeks ago in Dallas. And, you know, that\u2019s why I was making fun of you because like, listen, he cut his mullet \u2026 It wasn\u2019t necessarily grown up. There was a sense of urgency about the way that he was talking about the season. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t so much \u2018I\u2019m happy to be here. And isn\u2019t this great?\u2019 As much as it was like \u2018I\u2019ve got a mission to accomplish.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Host Colin Cowherd referenced a question of maturity in quarterback\u00a0Quinn Ewers<\/a><\/strong>. Klatt dismissed the notion entirely and expects a big season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the sense that I got from our conversation,\u201d Klatt said. \u201cAnd I was intrigued by that, to be quite honest with you, because this is a team as you suggested and I would back this up, they have a roster that should win the conference and compete for a playoff spot.\u201d<\/p>\n

That would make a Texas fans happy, happier than even seeing some former greats link up. The Longhorns could be in for an exciting 2023.<\/p>\n
