Miami<\/a><\/strong> 2024 cornerback commit Ryan Mack<\/a><\/strong> stopped worrying about his recruitment when he announced his pledge to the Hurricanes June 26<\/a><\/strong>, and he hasn\u2019t looked back. Instead, he\u2019s been able to focus on building relationships with his future teammates.<\/p>\n

Mack, a 5-foot-11 defensive back who was recruited to play nickelback and cornerback at Miami, said it would take nothing short of a total recruiting collapse to reopen his recruitment, like if his relationship with the Hurricanes completely fell through and another program made a last-second no-holds-barred recruiting push. The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas product has been largely locked in on connecting with other 2024 Miami commits, which he did at the Hurricanes\u2019 end-of-July recruiting barbecue July 29.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201c(I\u2019m close to) Joshisa (Trader)<\/a><\/strong>, Vincent Shavers<\/a><\/strong>, those Miami Gardens Ravens guys,\u201d Mack said, adding he also has relationships with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas teammates Romanas \u201cOJ\u201d Frederique<\/a><\/strong> and Chance Robinson<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\u201c(The BBQ), it\u2019s a good tradition for the players and the coaches because it\u2019s good to be around your future teammates,\u201d he said. \u201cWe spent a lot of time with all of the commits doing commitment content, playing in the pool, stuff like that. I feel like it\u2019s good for the commits to bond and for them to have fun with all of the coaches, talk about things and not only talk about football.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mack plans to take an in-season official visit to Coral Gables this fall and does not plan to visit any other programs. He also plans to attend several home games but has not locked anything into his schedule. <\/p>\n

Head coach Mario Cristobal<\/a><\/strong> and secondary coach Jahmile Addae<\/a><\/strong> have been his primary two contacts since his commitment, and he feels like his relationship with the two is continuing to grow.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like it kind of shot up before I committed,\u201d Mack said. \u201cThat made me feel better about going to Miami. I feel like we started connecting more and started to connect more on a daily basis and call more often and things like that before I committed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mack plans to be a summer 2024 enrollee. He said he cannot enroll early due to the nature of his school\u2019s academic calendar.<\/p>\n

On3 lists Mack as a fringe four-star recruit who can easily make the jump into the top 300<\/a><\/strong> with a strong senior campaign, which gives his senior season some importance from a rankings standpoint. He looked the part of a Miami prospect at the Raiders\u2019 spring game earlier this year and looks to mark himself as one of Florida\u2019s top defensive backs this fall.<\/p>\n
