Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams<\/a><\/strong> is back at USC<\/strong><\/a> for the 2023 season and he\u2019ll have some talented new weapons to work with this fall. Like dual-sport athlete Duce Robinson<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Robinson will suit up at tight end for the Trojans, serving as a versatile pass-catching weapon that can be flexed all over the field.<\/p>\n

The accolades precede him. He\u2019s a five-star prospect who was the top tight end in the class and the No. 23 overall player in the nation in 2023. He\u2019s also a highly regarded baseball prospect.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an individual he\u2019s been on the scene for many, many years now,\u201d Williams said. \u201cBig 6-6 kid that has played, he\u2019s a multi-sport kid, been drafted in the MLB and things like that. Also being here at USC, being a highly talented recruit and then a player, he has all the reasons to be something that he\u2019s not. He\u2019s a super, super humble kid and he could be the complete opposite.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duce Robinson is viewed as one of the best two-sport athletes in the game right now, a talented baseball prospect on the diamond. He wasn\u2019t selected in this year\u2019s MLB Draft, almost certainly because he\u2019s expressed a desire to play football in college.<\/p>\n

But there was definitely a time when USC coach Lincoln Riley<\/a><\/strong> wasn\u2019t sure if he\u2019d be able to land the talented two-sport star.<\/p>\n

Duce Robinson took a little convincing, which Riley was able to do thanks to his track record with high-level two-sport stars, like Kyler Murray<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now that he\u2019s on campus and playing football, Robinson is just trying to soak everything in.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wants to learn, he enjoys ball,\u201d Williams said. \u201cIt\u2019s fun when you get young guys in the room and young guys like that to throw to that they get out there, want to learn, want to compete and go out there and perform and make plays for you. It\u2019s been fun. It\u2019s been great and he\u2019s a great guy off the field also.\u201d<\/p>\n

As far as a player comparison for the talented USC freshman, On3 compared him to Jimmy Graham<\/a><\/strong>, writing the following:<\/p>\n

\u201cDuce Robinson has wide receiver athleticism and movement skills in a tight end\u2019s body. His play style and physical traits remind us of Jimmy Graham. Both were also stars in other sports, with Graham going to play college basketball at Miami, while Robinson is a MLB Draft prospect. Robinson is a top football recruit, while Graham switched to the sport full-time in college.\u201d<\/p>\n
