Oklahoma took the field for its second practice of fall camp Friday.<\/p>\n

And SoonerScoop.com was there to watch it all. Scoop\u2019s Eddie Radosevich and George Stoia broke down everything they saw at practice and what coach Brent Venables<\/a><\/strong> had to say after practice. The two talked about everything from which players stood out physically during the viewing period to who appears to be Oklahoma\u2019s most vocal leader. Watch the full breakdown below.<\/p>\n

Venables also spoke after practice, answering questions about position battles, offensive standouts, the defensive line\u2019s depth, and what he wants to see accomplished over the next few weeks of fall camp. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is, again, a developmental game,\u201d Venables said. \u201cI want guys that are relentless to improve. And it takes humility. It takes hunger. And that\u2019s what I want from a football team. I want a humble team and I want a hungry team. And I want a team that\u2019s accountable to one another and to this place and their opportunity. I want guys who show up here every day and respect their opportunity to be here. And your actions speak louder than words, coach and player. So, it\u2019s every part.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was a hot day in Norman, with temperatures over 100 degrees. Venables said that staying hydrated has been a point of emphasis for Oklahoma, which shows maturity. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s showing up out here and knowing that guys have the maturity to know that when we show up for the hydration test in the morning after Day 1,\u201d Venables said. \u201cOur older guys in particular, guys that have been here, are where they\u2019re supposed to be on that hydration test. If a guy shows up here and he\u2019s in the quote-on-quote red, after the first day, that\u2019s concerning. That\u2019s a guy that\u2019s taking what we\u2019re talking about nonstop for granted. Because your best ability is availability. And if you\u2019re an older guy and we\u2019re counting on you and then you can\u2019t go through half the practice because you weren\u2019t hydrated \u2013 that\u2019s a problem. That\u2019s concerning for an older guy. \u201c<\/p>\n
