With that will likely come a different approach to how Green Bay is running its offense, in particular in terms of how much freedom the quarterback has in the offense.

As Love explained, how much control he has as in the offense is going to come down to what type of play is called for him.

“It comes down to the plays, exactly what play’s called,” Jordan Love said. “We have cans on certain plays we get to and things you can check to but for the most part, we’re going to let the plays ride, let it run, play in that system and not get too crazy with trying to check and do different things. I trust Matt [LaFleur]. He’s going to call the right play and we’re going to let it run.”

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is a former quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. Because of that, there are few head coaches better equipped to transition Love into the starting role than him in the NFL.

However, even with an offensive-minded head coach, replacing Aaron Rodgers isn’t going to be easy. Meanwhile, expectations are going to stay high for Jordan Love and the Packers. However, he’s not backing away from those expectations.

“Being a Green Bay Packer, there’s always very high expectations from the organization, from the guys who’ve been here before,” Love said. “Nothing changes.”

To this point in his career, Jordan Love has appeared in 10 games, starting one. He has a career completion percentage of 60.2% for 606 yards and three touchdowns. Love also has three career interceptions.

Troy Aikman expects Jordan Love to be ready

Jordan Love was drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The team’s plan was always to have him replace Aaron Rodgers. Now, as he prepares to do so, the question is whether or not he’s ready.

For his part, analyst and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman expects Love to be ready.

“He should be ready, because he has been there as long as he has. He’s had a chance to watch, as I said, a league MVP perform,” Aikman said on NFL Live. “You learn a lot from that as well. But I think there’s a bit of an unknown. I think the way the Packers got him signed this year, coming into the season, is really a testament to maybe some uncertainty that they have. This will be a big year for him to prove it.”

The post Jordan Love shares how much say he will have on offense appeared first on On3.

[1

post-12250","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
