2024 Brunswick (Ga.) linebacker\u00a0Devin Smith<\/a><\/strong> was at LSU<\/a>\u00a0for an unofficial visit with the Bayou Splash on Friday. The 6-3, 220-pounder is a key target for the Tigers and enjoyed his time on campus.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was good, I liked it. I had fun,\u201d Smith told On3. \u201cIt gave me a chance to see the LSU coaches bond with us recruits outside of the traditional football setting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Defensive coordinator Matt House was among the coaches he saw relax a little bit more in the casual setting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe water games were cool and the good food and good vibes (stood out),\u201d Smith said. \u201cIt was pretty relaxing just to see everyone being themself. Coach House is a great guy and awesome coach. I think he\u2019s straight forward and genuine. You can tell the players love him and I can see why he\u2019s always full of energy.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe told me that he really wants to coach me on this level. He says that he thinks I can really play here and got the defense really well.\u201d<\/p>\n

LSU now sits squarely in the Top 3 for Smith, he reported. He still plans to make a decision in the middle of his senior season. Alabama<\/a>,\u00a0Auburn<\/a>,\u00a0South Carolina<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Kentucky\u00a0are also still in the hunt for Smith\u2019s services, who announced his\u00a0Top 5<\/a>\u00a0earlier this month.<\/p>\n

A high three-star talent, he\u2019s the No. 601 player in the country according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He ranks as the No. 63 linebacker in the country and No. 68 prospect in Georgia.<\/p>\n

Despite missing some action last fall, the LSU target tallied 63 tackles, 10 for loss and six sacks.<\/p>\n
