Uros Plavsic<\/a><\/strong> played in 101 games at Tennessee over the last four seasons. The 7-foot Serbian center took 274 shots from the field, making 57.3 percent. Zero of those shots were behind the 3-point line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Maybe he should\u2019ve pulled the trigger a few times, though.<\/p>\n

Plavsic, playing in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas for the Atlanta Hawks, let a three fly with just over five minutes left in the second quarter Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A Hawks drive to the rim led to a kick out in the direction of Plavsic, who was left alone at the top of the key. He took the shot, left his shooting arm up and, after it went in, kept his arm up while turning and running to the other end of the floor.<\/p>\n

Plavsic played just under 17 minutes in the Hawks\u2019 win, scoring seven points on 3-for-4 shooting and grabbing a pair of rebounds. He finished 1-for-2 from the 3-point line.<\/p>\n

Eight former Tennessee players on NBA Summer League rosters<\/h2>\n

Plavsic is one of\u00a0eight Tennessee players on NBA Summer League rosters<\/a>\u00a0this summer, including Julian Phillips<\/a><\/strong> (Chicago Bulls) and Keon Johnson<\/a><\/strong> (Trailblazers), Jaden Springer<\/a><\/strong> (76ers) and Kennedy Chandler<\/a><\/strong> (Brooklyn Nets).<\/p>\n

Yves Pons<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is on the Hawks roster alongside Plavsic and\u00a0Jordan Bowden<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is playing for the Los Angeles Clippers.\u00a0Kyle Alexander<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is playing for the Washington Wizards Summer League team.<\/p>\n

Bowden earned the Summer League roster spot after averaging 17.3 pints, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in a breakout season in the NBA\u2019s G League, shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and 32.9 percent from the 3-point line. He scored 18 points for the Clippers in just 16 minutes Monday night, going 7-for-9 from the field, including 4-for-6 from the 3-point line.<\/p>\n

Julian Phillips signs four-year contract with Chicago Bulls<\/h2>\n

signed a four-year contract with the Chicago Bulls worth $8.1 million, according to ESPN\u2019s Bobby Marks<\/a>. The deal for the second-round pick includes $5.7 million in guaranteed money over the first three years of the deal.<\/p>\n

Marks reported that Phillips will make $1.6 million as a rookie in 2023-24, then $1.9 million in 2024-25 and $2.2 million in 2025-26. The fourth year is a team option for the 2026-27 season worth $2.4 million.<\/p>\n

Phillips, the former Tennessee basketball<\/a> five-star small forward, was the 35th overall pick in the NBA Draft<\/a>. He\u2019s played in two Summer League game with the Bulls, averaging 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game, shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 22.1 percent from the 3-point line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Phillips scored 16 points Tuesday night in Chicago\u2019s Summer League win over the Sacramento Kings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
