Future Penn State offensive lineman Cooper Cousins<\/a><\/strong> confirmed on Twitter Tuesday evening that he\u2019s been invited to participate in the 2024 All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Shortly after, it was confirmed that he will participate in the game, which is set to take place Jan. 6, 2024.<\/p>\n

Throughout this class, there\u2019s no denying that Cousins is one of the nation\u2019s best offensive line prospects. Just this past week, Cousins moved up to No. 214 in the nation in the On300. He ranks even higher in On3\u2019s Industry Rankings<\/a><\/strong>, which is a cumulative score between On3, 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN. <\/p>\n

James Franklin<\/a><\/strong> and his staff earned a commitment from Cousins in Jan. 2022. He\u2019s held firm ever since and has been one of the staff\u2019s best peer recruiters. <\/p>\n

On3 Scouting Director Charles Power on Cousins<\/span><\/h2>\n

Blue White Illustrated caught up with On3 Scouting Director Charles Power this week to discuss Penn State\u2019s top players and why they rank where they do in the On300. Cousins was previously part of the On300 for months, then just barely fell out during the previous update this spring.<\/p>\n

Now, not only is he back among the nation\u2019s best, but his overall rating has improved from a 90 to 91.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Cooper Cousins, [his rise] was mainly us reassessing the interior offensive line and where he stacks up in the group. I do think he has a lot better chance of sticking in as a 91 than he would\u2019ve as a 90. If you look at our rankings, there\u2019s always a lot of movement in the last 50 to 100 spots. We have so many 90s, and much of it is primarily determined on where they stack up at each position.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think the big thing with Cousins is that he has a lot of size and versatility on the interior. He\u2019s not a guy who\u2019s overwhelming in one category or attribute, but he\u2019s well above average in everything. I think he\u2019s a really steady, solid presence and a guy who projects to be not only a multiple-year starter at Penn State, but also a guy who could play early if needed given his versatility and ability to play several different spots.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the fact that he has snapping experience is very encouraging as well. That only adds to his value. A lot of the center-only prospects don\u2019t have the same value from a draft perspective. So, the fact that he\u2019s so versatile is a feather in his cap. Plus, he\u2019s so big. To have his size and strength potentially as a center helps him out a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
