But we don’t even know yet, Brady Cook, Sam Horn, like baseball deal, like how is this all gonna play out? We don’t know, so it’s kind of hard to say Garcia would have been that guy anyways.”

Cubelic also gave a shout out to an incoming offensive lineman that could help anchor the Tigers up front on offense, but believes he won’t quite be the most impactful incoming player for Mizzou.

“I do think Cam Johnson is gonna play on that offensive line from Houston, is a really good football player, I like his film. Good pad level, good push, pretty athletic for a big thick body, and I think that’s a group that probably needed a little bit of help outside of tackle,” Cubelic said.

But for the biggest impact transfer, Cubelic went with wide receiver Theo Wease, who he believes can provide some much-needed value to the team on offense and open up things for Missouri’s leader in receiving touchdowns last season.

“But Luther Burden‘s gonna go inside, and Luther Burden’s gonna be moved, motions, they’re gonna pitch him the ball, they’re gonna push pass, they’re going to throw to him quickly, and they’ll utilize him in the slot to do different things. So what do you have outside?” Cubelic asked.

“Well here comes Theo Wease from Oklahoma, 6’3-205 [pounds], a guy that’s a little bit more athletic. A guy that can attack the football that I think helps you down the field and allows you to keep Luther Burden inside. Because if you get a little bit of attention outside and that safety’s got to respect it and stay over the top, now Burden can work his magic in a lot of different ways.”

Wease was a highly touted recruit out of high school, a five-star prospect out of Allen high school in Texas where he was ranked the No. 4 wideout in the nation and the No. 23 overall prospect in the 2018 class according to On3’s Industry Ranking.

He had consistent production throughout his career in Oklahoma, hauling in 64 catches for 1,044 yards and 10 scores. But his skillset specific to what the Tigers need on offense is what made Wease the obvious choice for most impactful incoming transfer.

“That was a pretty easy one for me although there were a couple of different options. But I think Theo Wease in this offense, and also let’s put it this way, if we don’t know who the quarterback is right now what does that position probably need more than anything? Outside of protection up front, it needs an eraser, it needs a guy to help him out. I mean he needs a big body down the field that every now and then they can say hey man, one-on-one go catch me a football and they go grab it and get positive yards,” Cubelic said. “So for me, Wease would be that guy for Missouri.”

The post Cole Cubelic reveals the most impactful incoming transfer at Missouri appeared first on On3.

[1

post-10242","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
