It\u2019s time to think of Aaron Jones<\/a><\/strong> as a two-sport athlete, as he\u2019s headed to the Cornhole World Championships. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s right, the Green Bay Packers star running back is taking on some of the best of the best in many\u2019s favorite summer BBQ game. Evidently, Jones has the ability to run the boards, and he\u2019s looking to win the whole dang thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cAaron Jones\u00a0is one of the best running backs in the league, but his athletic attributes don\u2019t stop on the football field. On Friday, the\u00a0Packers\u00a0star\u00a0came in first place\u00a0at the American Cornhole League preliminary tournament at Summerfest, meaning he earned a spot in the Superhole IV championship in South Carolina,\u201d reported Daniel Chavkin of Sports Illustrated<\/em><\/a>. \u201cJones and his partner, professional cornholer Yetty Irwan, won two matches Friday night, first defeating Spice Adams and pro David Morse and then taking down Nikki Garcia and pro Eric Zocklein.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pair\u00a0became the seventh<\/a>\u00a0of what will be eight preliminary champions, and Jones joined Vikings running back\u00a0Alexander Mattison\u00a0and Bills defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. as NFL players in the championship. Red Sox slugger\u00a0Justin Turner\u00a0and former track-and-field star Sanya Richards-Ross are other athletes who made the championship, alongside celebrities Vinny Guadagnino and Paige Hathaway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alas, Jones will be dealing with athletes and celebrities from all different walks of life, but the Packers star will be looking to line them up and knock them down. He\u2019s already made it this far, so we\u2019re not doubting his prowess.<\/p>\n

While Jones is making believers out of doubters in cornhole, there are plenty of people who are expecting the Packers to have a rough season after trading Aaron Rodgers<\/a><\/strong>. Jones doesn\u2019t believe that\u2019s fair, as he\u2019s of the school of thought that Green Bay still have everything they need to compete with Jordan Love<\/a><\/strong> at quarterback. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got everything we need here. If you think\u00a0we\u2019re in a rebuild, you\u2019ve got the wrong team, the wrong place,\u201d Jones said, via Zach Kruse of\u00a0USA TODAY<\/em>. \u201cWe know it\u2019s going to take all 11 and we\u2019ll have to depend on each other in all phases, but we\u2019re hungry, we\u2019re ready to prove a lot of people wrong.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know what people are saying. Everybody has an opinion and most of them stink.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perhaps Aaron Jones can become the first to win a Cornhole World Championship and a Super Bowl in the same season. Time will tell, but it\u2019s going to be fun to watch him compete in both sports.<\/p>\n
