Salem (Va.) four-star linebacker Chris Cole<\/a><\/strong> has been a popular name recently in talks USC recruiting of the linebacker position. <\/p>\n

Cole is the No. 120 overall prospect and No. 10 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/a><\/strong>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Virginia.<\/p>\n

Cole took an unofficial visit to USC in June, a visit he told WeAreSC boosted USC in his recruitment. <\/p>\n

Now, Cole had included the Trojans in a top eight list. The full group is USC, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Miami, Penn State, and Notre Dame. <\/p>\n

The official visits<\/h2>\n

Cole took four officials in the month of June:\u00a0Penn State\u00a0<\/a>(June 2),\u00a0Virginia Tech<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(June 9),\u00a0Georgia<\/a><\/strong>(June 16) and\u00a0Miami<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(June 23).<\/p>\n

WeAreSC\u2019s Scott Schrader was able to speak with Cole previously and learned Cole\u2019s still planning to return to USC for an official visit during the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cUSC is an OV I\u2019ve been looking forward to,\u201d said Cole. \u201cI\u2019m definitely going back to visit in the fall and spend some time with Coaches and players!\u201d<\/p>\n

Cole\u2019s comments on USC<\/h2>\n

Cole gave a new comments to WeAreSC on his recruitment with USC. The quote gives you a good idea of what approach the staff is taking with Cole.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-2.5, 210-pound backer holds 25+ offers. According to the\u00a0On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine<\/a><\/strong>, Virginia Tech currently has the lead to land a commitment from Cole at 35.2%. Penn State and Georgia are not far behind.<\/p>\n

RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with\u00a0Spiny.ai<\/a>\u00a0to create the industry\u2019s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.<\/p>\n

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.<\/p>\n

On3 NIL Valuation<\/h2>\n

Cole has an On3 NIL Valuation of\u00a0$98K<\/a><\/strong>. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete\u2019s value at a certain moment in time.<\/p>\n
