Wolverine TV: Can Michigan beat Ohio State for Top 100 CB Aaron Scott?
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland and Zach Libby discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Tuesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the latest on Top 100 Springfield (Ohio) High cornerback Aaron Scott.
Watch and listen to Holland and Libby share the latest on U-M recruiting below.
Scott is set to make an official visit to Michigan on June 16 and will follow that up with an official visit to Ohio State on June 23. He is expected to make a decision before the end of summer.
Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment.
“I know there have been some reports out there that Michigan leads in this recruitment,” Holland said. “I don’t think Michigan, itself, feels like it leads in this recruitment, but they do feel optimistic. I’m optimistic as well — cautiously optimistic. I think Michigan has a much better shot at landing Aaron Scott than they do Bryce West…. At the end of the day, does Michigan have the lead or not, it doesn’t really matter. It’s all going to come down to those official visits.”
At 5-foot-11, 165 pounds, Scott is ranked as the No. 2 cornerback and No. 13 overall prospect nationally, per On3. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of Ohio.
Scott has an On3 NIL Valuation of $165K with 5.5K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Michigan has 17 commits in its 2024 recruiting class — Top 100 Rochester (Mich.) Adams tight end Brady Prieskorn, Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis, Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller running back Jordan Marshall, On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, On300 Austin (Texas) Vandegrift offensive tackle Blake Frazier, On300 Kansas City (Mo.)
