Wolverine TV: Breaking down the five most underrated Michigan commits

Wolverine TV: Breaking down the five most underrated Michigan commits

The On3 Industry rankings for the 2024 recruiting class were updated this month. The list featured plenty of movement for Michigan commits.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland breaks down the five most underrated U-M verbal pledges in the video below.

One of the commits featured in this video is three-star Princeton (N.J.) Hun School defensive lineman Owen Wafle, who committed to Michigan last month after being a Notre Dame verbal pledge for more than a year.

Here is what Holland had to say about Wafle.

“Wafle is listed at 6-foot-2, 267 pounds, but the dude is definitely closer to 290 pounds,” Holland said. “He doesn’t have the height that you would necessarily look for as a three-technique, but he does have the length. He reminds me a bit of Mason Graham in the sense that he’s not a guy you’re super excited about from a ceiling standpoint or an athletic standpoint, but I do think he’s a high floor prospect that’s ready to go right now. He’s strong, has a terrific motor, has violent hands and is deceptively athletic. He does play some fullback and starts there for his high school team. He’s added some good weight. I think he’s a guy that could contribute as a true freshman.”

Wafle is ranked as the No. 38 defensive lineman and No. 419 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
