Who’s next in 2024? A closer look at five commitment candidates

Michigan is coming off a key win on the recruiting trail.

The Wolverines landed a verbal pledge from On300 Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst offensive lineman Andrew Sprague.

Michigan now has 11 commits and boasts the No. 5 recruiting class nationally. But of course, Michigan fans are already thinking about the next man up.

So who are some other 2024 prospects that could jump on board and continue to build the momentum? Here are five candidates.

WR Channing Goodwin, Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day

A three-star prospect, Goodwin joined teammate and Michigan quarterback commit Jadyn Davis on several visits to U-M over the last year and made his own trip earlier this month. Goodwin also happens to be a legacy recruit as he is the son of former Michigan offensive lineman Jonathan Goodwin, who played with lead recruiter Ron Bellamy during his time in Ann Arbor. The elder Goodwin and Bellamy have remained friends throughout the years, and that relationship should give the Wolverines the inside track. Goodwin is ranked as the No. 402 overall prospect nationally.

WR I’Marion Stewart, Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood

Michigan hosted Stewart for an unofficial visit in late March and got him back on campus for the spring game just a week later. Overall, Stewart has visited Michigan three times this calendar year and recently told The Wolverine that U-M is in the lead. While Stewart, who is ranked as the No. 453 overall prospect nationally, doesn’t plan to make a decision until summer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him jump in the class soon. I have a prediction in for Michigan and feel very confident in that pick.

TE Brady Prieskorn, Rochester (Mich.) Adams

Michigan is trending heavily for Prieskorn on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine following his unofficial visit last month. Michigan made a huge impression on the in-state prospect and appears to be in a strong position to keep him at home. Prieskorn, who is ranked as the No. 64 overall prospect nationally, did follow up his U-M trip with a visit to Penn State. He is also set to see Ole Miss this month. However, I have a prediction in for Michigan and believe the Wolverines can seal the deal at some point this offseason.

OL Blake Frazier, Austin (Texas) Vandegrift

Another legacy recruit, Frazier is the son of former Michigan center Steve Frazier, who played for the Wolverines in the 90s and snapped for Tom Brady. Blake released a final five of Michigan, Texas, Florida, LSU and Clemson. However, Michigan has a ton of momentum coming off last month’s visit, and the Wolverines would love to get him onboard sooner rather than later. I’ve had a prediction for Michigan to land Frazier, the No. 347 overall recruit nationally, for several months and still feel confident.

EDGE Brian Robinson, Austintown (Ohio) Fitch

The Ohio movement is real. Michigan has landed four Ohio recruits this cycle, with two over the last month. That hot streak could continue with Robinson as area recruiter Steve Clinkscale is making it a priority to rebuild the recruiting bridge into enemy territory. Robinson visited three times in the fall and returned to campus again this winter. He has great relationships with Clinkscale and defensive line coach Mike Elston and loves the recent EDGE production. U-M has the clear lead for Robinson, who ranks as the No. 146 overall prospect nationally.
