Who to follow now in Georgia offensive line recruiting
Georgia landed its first offensive line commitment of the Class of 2025 in Mason Short on Friday morning, but if you’ve followed recruiting under Kirby Smart, you no doubt realize that one big man in the offensive trenches is just the start.
Where do the Dawgs turn their attention now? Let’s look at a few names to watch and what we’re hearing on where it all stands.
The nation’s most coveted piece on the line, Sanders holds the Bulldogs in high regard and has throughout the recruiting process. In the recent, Clemson feels as though it’s the program with the momentum, and we’re hearing more about Ohio State than we did at the turn of the year. Tennessee and Alabama are lurking, as well. Still, it would be deeply foolish to write the Bulldogs off at this point. Sanders doesn’t seem to be nearing a decision in the near future, so official visits this summer will be key. The Bulldogs are on that list and will be a threat to land his commitment throughout. He’ll officially visit in June.
The in-state option for a highly-rated tackle, Petty is taking a similarly level-headed approach to his recruitment, and like Sanders, Clemson looks to be heavily in the mix here, as well. Auburn and Tennessee catch frequent mentions, as well, and Texas looks to be making some noise after a recent trip to Austin. Currently, just Clemson has an official visit set up, but it’s very likely Georgia ends up on that list, as well. He speaks highly of the coaching staff in Athens and has been a frequent visitor.

Fasusi has the Bulldogs among his top schools and is coming off of a strong visit that looks to have positioned Georgia well moving forward. While he doesn’t have an official visit set to Athens yet, it’s fair to wonder if they’ll find themselves on the receiving end after this recent trek. He certainly said all of the right things afterward. Currently, the schools in and near Texas feel the best positioned, but this one could become fluid quickly.
Perhaps the most frequently connected to Georgia name on the list, Gaston is one of the best in the Peach State for 2025, sports a frame that coaches covet, and has been to Athens numerous times throughout his recruitment. It’s clear he’s a priority for the Bulldogs, and the love feels reciprocal.
Smith’s situation feels deeply similar to Gaston’s — in-state, frequent visitor, and plenty of Georgia love to go around. Could he be Georgia’s solution at center in the Class of 2025? We definitely wouldn’t consider that out of the question. Regardless of where he plays on the interior, he should be on the list of names you’ll want to know.
