Where can Georgia make the biggest recruiting splash on G-Day?

When Georgia opens the gates of Sanford Stadium fans and elite high school prospects usually come through them.

Saturday’s G-Day scrimmage won’t count toward Georgia’s 2024 record. It will be another opportunity to leave a mark on prospects wondering if Georgia is the place for them in the future.

There are multiple names on that list that Georgia has been heavily involved with for a while. There are a few names on that list that will have Georgia heavily involved in their recruitment over the next three months as many of them come to their college commitments.

Here are three places where Georgia can make a serious splash in recruiting on Saturday.

Fireworks in front of offensive weapons?

Typically the way G-Day games go, Georgia throws the football a ton. This is also an opportunity for the skill players to make a splash.

Recruits like four-star wideout Travis Smith will get a bit of an exaggerated look at what a passing attack in Athens can look like. Having Smith and four-star tight end commit Elyiss Williams on campus on Saturday is a major opportunity.

They’ll be in town alongside elite 2026 quarterback commit Jared Curtis. There’s an opportunity for Smith and Williams to get to know Curtis. The two Georgia stars are major Georgia targets.

Curtis is from Nashville, so any face-to-face time Curtis can get with key potential offensive playmakers is invaluable long term.

Georgia can go a long way in setting up the future at edge

If throwing the football is an opportunity for the offensive players to shine, then there is an opportunity for the pass rushers.

It will be a day of pass rush reps for Georgia’s current collection of pass rushers. There are three key names expected in the crowd on Saturday.

2025 four-star Darren Ikinnagbon has had Georgia trending in a positive direction in his recruitment for some time. The four-star edge will be in Athens for the second time ever. He’ll have a chance to watch Georgia’s edges and how they have been taught to attack the passing game in their time under Chidera Uzo-Diribe.

The top prospect in the 2026 On3 rankings in the Peach State Jordan Carter is also expected in town. Georgia is high on his board as well.

2027 edge David Jacobs is also back in town. Jacobs was a star at Blessed Trinity as a freshman and he’s a legacy. The Bulldogs will be heavily considered in his recruitment.

Rekindling bond with five-star DL Justus Terry

Terry flipped to USC a few weeks back. The five-star defensive lineman was a long time Georgia commit. There has been communication over the last few weeks.

The Bulldogs are going to continue to push to re-land Terry. Terry is in town for the first time since the move to flip his commitment. The Bulldogs will also have the chance to talk with Terry and his family in person. He’s already set an official visit to Georgia.

This weekend could go a long way in putting out some of the fires.
