When will Daniel Hill be back in Columbia?
Gamecocks running back target Daniel Hill now has plans to return to the Palmetto State for another visit, according to a report from On3’s Chad Simmons.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder will be making an unofficial visit to Columbia next weekend to take in USC’s matchup against Florida at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Hill was in Knoxville visiting Tennessee last weekend – an official visit – and the Saturday before that was in Tuscaloosa checking out Alabama.
He made his allotted official visit to South Carolina back in June.

The Meridian (Mississippi) product was originally slated to announce a college commitment back on August 23. Had he followed through, that would have been good news for Shane Beamer’s program.
“I still feel confident that if he had committed in August, it would have been to South Carolina,” Simmons added. “The narrative has shifted some toward Alabama on the surface, but I still feel the Gamecocks are right there for the 4-star RB in Mississippi. Hill is very high on the program and loves his connection with the staff.”
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine still has the South Carolina Gamecocks as the leader here in October with just over a 75 percent chance to land him.
“The Vols are working hard to get back into this,” said Simmons. “I would still put South Carolina over Tennessee at this time. There is not decision date set yet, and this is a family decision, so this is one that could still have a few twists and turns.”
USC running backs coach Montario Hardesty is in Missisippi today and will scout Hill during Meridian’s game against Oak Grove.
The Gamecocks have one running back committed for the 2024 class in Georgia’s Matthew Fuller. Tennessee has a pledge from Virginia product Peyton Lewis, and Alabama does not have a verbal commitment from a back.
What is it that Hill has cited as his reasoning for being so high on USC throughout the process?
“Oh, the people,” he told GamecockCentral.com this summer. “The people and the culture, you know. Everybody loves one another and cares about one another.”
