What is Penn State getting in four-star Donovan Harbour?: Commitment impact

Penn State picked up its fifth Class of 2024 commitment of April and third top-200 player in the On3 Industry Rankings on Tuesday when Waukesha, Wisc., four-star lineman Donovan Harbour picked the Lions. The 6-foot-4, 330-pound prospect made his decision after a visit to see the Lions last weekend.

Tennessee, Ohio State, Florida, Wisconsin, Oregon, and Michigan were Harbour’s other finalists. He is a four-star across the board. ESPN ranks him highest of all recruiting sites. It calls him the No. 58 player overall, number two interior lineman, and top player in Wisconsin. The On3 Industry rankings have him at Nos. 178, 10, and two, respectively. On3’s own rankings slot him at Nos. 294, 20, and four, respectively.

What is Penn State getting in Harbour? He projects as a guard at the next level.

“Monster run blocker whose raw power and strength allow him to ragdoll his opponents at will,” On3’s scouting report says. “Threw 48-foot-7 in the shot put and 120-foot-9 in the discus during his sophomore track and field season. Fires off the ball and plays with excellent leverage at the point of attack. Solid balance and body control when working in space.

“Will need to develop footwork and hand placement in pass protection due to limited snaps as a pass protector. High upside prospect off of physical traits and movement skills. Will more than likely see him kick inside at the next level.”

Harbour is the third lineman to pick the Lions in this cycle, joining Erie’s Cooper Cousins and Reading’ Caleb Brewer. He is the second highest-rated commit in the Class of 2024. He checks in behind only running back Quinton Martin, who is No. 43 in the On3 Industry Rankings.
