West Virginia’s Logan Sauve launches home run into street vs. Oklahoma
Some cars driving by Monongalia County Ballpark were in for a surprise Sunday as a baseball fell from the sky. West Virginia designated hitter Logan Sauve got a hold of a pitch in the fourth inning of an afternoon game against Oklahoma, sending it soaring to left field and into the street.
The home run was the second of the day for the Mountaineers and third of the season for Sauve, who is a freshman. The score increased the WVU lead to 7-0 heading into the fifth inning. You can view the moment below.
Sauve is 2-for-2 at the plate so far on the afternoon and has a team-high four RBI. He also recorded a three-RBI double in the second inning in addition to his solo shot.
Oklahoma responded to score three runs in the fifth inning and cut the deficit to 7-3. That remains the score heading into the bottom of the sixth as the Mountaineers are once again up to bat.
