WATCH: A behind-the-scenes look at Jamal Murray’s return from injury

Jamal Murray has experienced quite a bit over the last two years.

It was April 12, 2021, when Murray, 24 at the time, tore his ACL during a game against the Golden State Warriors. The Denver Nuggets point guard and copilot to two-time MVP Nikola Jokic would miss the entirety of the 2021-22 season as a result, sitting out for a total of 18 months before he finally made his way back onto the hardwood.

Murray returned for the Nuggets to start the 2022-23 season and hardly missed a beat, averaging 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game for the Western Conference’s top overall seed. He appeared in 65 regular season games and is primed to take Denver on a deep playoff run.

But getting to that point was anything but a walk in the park.

In a nearly 30-minute long documentary produced by the NBA, Murray, now 26, takes us behind the scenes of his recovery process and the ups and downs of what life his life was like over the last two years. Not only that, but Murray also walks us through his early years growing up in Canada, playing alongside a superstar in Jokic, what it was like living in the “Bubble” during the pandemic, his tour of Australia last summer, and much more (did you know he missed his first 18 shots as an NBA rookie?).
