Wake Forest commit Logan Bartley discusses Kansas State offer
While it is a dead period in football recruiting, offers can still go out to prospects. Kansas State has extended scholarships to a handful of players in both the 2025 and 2026 classes since the dead period began.
One of the more recent 2025 examples was Naples, Florida safety Logan Bartley. K-State has had success in the Sunshine State in the 2025 class already by adding IMG Academy receiver Adonis Moise and Lakeland native JoJo Scott in June.
Kansas State State offered Bartley, who is committed to Wake Forest, on July 2.
“The offer was a surprise certainly because it was out of nowhere,” Bartley said.
It was K-State defensive coordinator and safeties coach Joe Klanderman who notified him of the opportunity in front of him.
“Klanderman talked about what K-State had to offer,” Bartley shared. “And he talked about what he envisioned me doing there as a player and the role I would play in their defense. I would be playing the Jack safety at K-State.”
“What stood out in my conversation with Klanderman is he is the defensive coordinator and would also be my position coach and he seems confident in my ability,” Bartley continued.
Kansas State won a Big 12 title in 2022. They landed one of the best quarterbacks in the country in Avery Johnson two years ago and a five-star tight end in Linkon Cure earlier this week. Advancing the brand has been a goal and a mission of head coach Chris Klieman.
It’s resonating on the recruiting trail, and Bartley has some knowledge about the program despite living in a different time zone.
“They’re a winning program and have some great fans,” he pointed out. “I really like the idea that they run five defensive backs and specifically three safeties out there. It just gives me more opportunity to see the field.”
At this stage, he remains committed to the Demon Deacons. He committed to Dave Clawson and company on January 19 over offers from Boston College, Eastern Kentucky and Ole Miss. What does the Kansas State offer mean for his recruitment?
“I like to look at it like it’s just another opportunity just like I have at Wake,” Bartley admitted. “I haven’t decided if I will visit Kansas State yet.”
