Vols’ assistants checking on multiple in-state targets on Friday

The Spring Evaluation period is in full effect as college coaches across the country are working to check in on various prospects before the period ends on May 31st. Tennessee’s coaches have been on the road heavily since the conclusion of spring ball in Knoxville, and Friday is no different.

Several Tennessee staff members are on the road inside of the state borders on Friday to check on multiple in-state prospects across varying classes.

After spending Thursday in Georgia, Willie Martinez is scheduled to check on multiple defensive back prospects in the state on Friday. Martinez is expected to see 2024 commit Marcus Goree, as well as other Chattanooga-area standouts Boo Carter and Martels Carter. Martinez will end the day in Nashville at Lipscomb Academy’s College Showcase to check on four-star commitment Kaleb Beasley.

Beasley tells Volquest on Friday morning that he is also planning to return to Knoxville later this month on May 27th as the Vols are hosting an important recruiting weekend for unofficial visitors.

Brian Jean-Mary will work through the mid-state on Friday morning, stopping in at multiple high schools in the area before joining Martinez at Lipscomb Academy’s College Showcase. Four-star 2024 linebacker target Edwin Spillman will participate in the event on Friday afternoon.

Offensive Line Coach Glen Elarbee will also work in the mid-state on Friday. Elarbee is expected to check on offensive line commitment Jesse Perry and interior offensive line target Ronan O’Connell.

First-year offensive coordinator Joey Halzle is scheduled to work through the mid-state as well on Friday. Halzle’s travels include checking on elite 2025 QB target George MacIntyre, as well as also checking on O’Connell and Jesse Perry.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently has 11 commitments and is ranked 9th in the nation and 5th in the SEC. The Vols will host their Memorial Day recruiting weekend of unofficial visitors before on-campus camps and official visits start-up in June.
