Volquest Podcast: Early thoughts on Tennessee fall camp

Tennessee football has entered week two of fall camp with a Monday morning practice yesterday and scrimmage one around the corner on Thursday. Who has stood out thus far and which position group has got to pick it up as the month of August rolls on?
The first edition of the USA Today Coaches Poll debuted Monday afternoon and head coach Josh Heupel’s Volunteers were tabbed 10th in the poll. Is that too high, too low or just about right? Who are Tennessee’s opponents also ranked inside the top-25 and will the 10th-ranking be reflected in next week’s AP Poll release?
Join Brent Hubbs, Austin Price, Rob Lewis and Eric Cain as they discuss it all on this week’s edition of the Volquest Podcast. It’s presented by Exterior Home Solutions. For a free estimate, give them a call at 865-524-5888.
Quote of the Pod on Tennessee
Brent Hubbs on the highlights and concerns early on in fall camp…
“I think just when you look at this team, athletically, they look better. You know, there’s no doubt we’ve talked about that just running around in shorts and, and shells and what they look like at the linebacker position. And, you know, I think this defensive line has played well to start fall camp here. We’ll see how the offensive line responds. I think it’s too early to push panic buttons. But I think it’s clear right now the defensive line is ahead of the offensive line. I don’t think that’s a shock. I don’t think that big surprise to everybody right now. Maybe the surprise is that some of those young defensive linemen have been a little better, maybe than you thought. But this is a big week for this offensive line. Glenn Elarbee spoke on that Monday. They don’t have to have all the answers at the end of this week. But they’ve got to start to move to find some answers. At tackling guard and backup center.”
