Villanova forward Josiah Moseley enters NCAA transfer portal

Villanova forward Josiah Moseley enters NCAA transfer portal

Villanova forward Josiah Moseley has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He does so after just one year with the Wildcats.

During his lone season with Villanova, Moseley played in 30 games. He averaged just 10.2 minutes per contest, so there’s a lot of development needed as he continues to soak up more time going forward.

Still, Josiah Moseley showed some flashes. He averaged 1.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, while blocking the occasional shot or recording an assist or a steal.

Moseley contributed a good deal more early in the season than late for the Wildcats. In his final 15 games he scored more than two points just once.

However, Josiah Moseley had a few good stretches during the season. In mid-December he had games with nine points and three rebounds and then six points and five rebounds.

His season high in scoring actually came in the season opener, when he scored 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting in just 17 minutes of action. His season high in rebounding was seven.

Prior to enrolling at Villanova, Josiah Moseley was a highly coveted recruit. He was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 73 overall player in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 9 power forward in his class. Finally, he was ranked the No. 3 overall player in the state of Texas, hailing from Round Rock (TX) Stony Point.

Villanova guard plans to enter transfer portal

Josiah Moseley isn’t the only Villanova player looking to move on this offseason. Guard Kris Parker plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. Parker transferred to Villanova last offseason after redshirting his true freshman year at Alabama.

In his lone campaign with the Wildcats, Parker made 27 appearances but didn’t start. He averaged 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 10.1 minutes per game. He shot 43.6% from the field and 20.0% from beyond the arc.

Parker had his best performance of the season in Villanova’s 100-56 win over DePaul. In the blowout victory, Parker tallied 11 points while shooting 4-5 from the floor.

Kris Parker played high school basketball at Crossroad Academy (FL), where he was a four-star recruit. He was the No. 105 overall player and No. 26 small forward in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s Grant Grubbs also contributed to this report.
