USC Trojans trending for 4-star IOL Jason Zandamela
Clearwater (Fla.) Clearwater Academy International four-star interior offensive lineman Jason Zandamela announced a top five of Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma, USC and Georgia on May 21. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Trojans are leading for his commitment.
Zandamela, who is taking an official visit to USC this weekend, has a 61.0% chance to choose head coach Lincoln Riley and his staff. The Trojans’ odds rose exponentially following an expert prediction from Marshall Levenson of WeAreSC and industry updates.
“Just like current USC commit Manasse Itete, who was once trending to Florida State, USC has taken advantage of the official visit weekend to roll out the red carpet,” Levenson said. “USC has been much more of a factor in Zandamela’s recruitment than many realized or talked about, but the early returns from the visit lead us to believe the Trojans are now the team to beat. Offensive line coach Josh Henson has been strong in his official visits this summer and landing Zandamela could potentially be his biggest get if the Trojans can land him.”
Zandamela is the No. 98 overall prospect and No. 4 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 16 player in Florida.

Zandamela would be a massive recruiting win for USC
Before his official to Los Angeles, the 6-foot-3, 286-pound recruit last visited USC on April 8. He went on an official visit to Oklahoma on June 9 and is scheduled to take one to Florida State on June 23.
“(I like) their culture and I’m a big fan of their current center,” Zandamela told On3’s Chad Simmons about USC on March 5. “I watched his tape a lot because I almost revolve my game around how he plays it. I really like how coach Henson coaches.”
Landing Zandamela would mark another big recruiting win for the Trojans’ 2024 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 10 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the Big Ten. USC’s group is led by Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star cornerback Marcelles Williams, the No. 71 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.
June has been a massive month for Riley and Co., as they have landed pledges from eight players. They are Williams, Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star cornerback Dakoda Fields, Hiram (Ga.) four-star tight end Walter Matthews, Atlanta (Ga.) Washington four-star EDGE Kameryn Fountain, Cheshire (Conn.) Cheshire Academy four-star linebacker Elijah Newby, Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic four-star offensive tackle Manasse Itete, Clearwater (Fla.) three-star safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr. and Engelwood (Colo.) Cherry Creek three-star interior offensive lineman Hayden Treter.
