USC safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr. enters NCAA transfer portal

USC safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr. entered the NCAA transfer portal today, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
The 6-foot-1, 191-pound safety signed with USC as a three-star prospect in the 2024 class. He was the nation’s No. 618 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.
He did not play a snap as a true freshman and spent most of the season recovering from injury. That appeared to carry over into the spring and it was likely going to be difficult for Boatwright to carve out much time in a loaded safety room that is only adding more players.
USC brings back Kamari Ramsey and Christian Pierce and added Bishop Fitzgerald as a transfer from North Carolina State this offseason. Marquis Gallegos returns for his second season and USC added Steve Miller as an early enrollee in the 2025 class. That group is set to add fellow 2025 signee Dee Reddick this summer and USC just landed former Notre Dame safety Kennedy Urlacher via the transfer portal.
Boatwright is the sixth USC player to enter the transfer portal over the past few months.
Defensive end Lorenzo Cowan did so last week and quickly found a landing spot at Kentucky. Running back A’Marion Peterson, cornerback Maliki Crawford and kicker Tyler Robles remain in the portal. Defensive end Solomon Tuliaupupu entered the portal back in February and is headed to Montana.
