USC Hosting Nation’s No. 1 2026 Offensive Tackle on Saturday (6/15)
Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell from Nixa (MO)already holds nearly 30 scholarship offers. USC, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State,Oregon and Tennessee are among the top programs pursuing.
Cantwell most recently visited Georgia on March 16, Missouri on March 9 and Oregon June 12. The 6-7.5 and 305-pound recruit’s next trip will be to USC on Saturday June 15. He was already on the West Coast for the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene (OR).
“I was already going to be flying back from a track meet through LA and I developed a good relationship with Coach Henson this spring, so I figured taking a visit could be a good opportunity to get to see a very renowned program,” said Cantwell.
WeAreSC will be talking again to Cantwell tomorrow after his USC visit.
Cantwell is looking forward to the rest of his recruitment
Cantwell has already visited Missouri between three and four times and Georgia and Nebraska three times each. The No. 1 player in Missouri is also interested in seeing schools such as Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame.
He hopes to know his finalists before taking three official visits “at the most” over the summer before his senior season. The talented lineman also envisions himself having a top three, four or five schools ahead of his commitment.
Cantwell, who participates in shotput and track-and-field along with football, is currently “leaning towards” playing multiple sports in college. Despite there being some time until he announces his college destination, Cantwell already knows what is important to him in a school.
“Football team success is a big one,” said Cantwell, the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. “My relationships with the position coach and the head coach are important. Academics matter too and every major school has good academics… If my parents like the school, that’d be pretty good too. I think they like a lot of places.”
