USC 4-star safety commit Hylton Stubbs visits Miami

Jacksonville Mandarin four-star safety Hylton Stubbs is one of the many prospects that has committed to USC this spring.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder pledged to the Trojans on March 24 after visiting Los Angeles and was one of four commits in the span of 24 hours for Lincoln Riley and Co. Ahead of his quick pledge, Stubbs was also being heavily pursued by the three major in-state programs: Miami, Florida and Florida State.
For the first time since committing to USC, Stubbs made his way back to Coral Gables and visited Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes.
“The energy was high and Coach Cristobal’s dedication stood out,” Stubbs told On3’s Steve Wiltfong of the trip. “He sees me and Zaquan Patterson teaming up as a game-changer. They were impressed with my skills, calling me the most well-rounded safety in my class, and their recognition meant a lot.”
“Their culture stands out,” Stubbs previously told On3 of the Canes. “The culture of Miami, you can’t pass it up. You always have to see what’s going on in Miami, to be honest. I love that culture and then, they’re recruiting me pretty hard. Coach Cristobal was at the school and I had a great conversation with him.”
Miami is also set to get Stubbs back on campus for an official visit in June. He’s also set OVs to USC, UF and FSU. The Gators were trending for Stubbs in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine ahead of his sudden commitment.
Stubbs is the No. 65 overall prospect and No. 6 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 8 player in Florida.
