USC 4-star safety commit Hylton Stubbs: “A lot of schools are still showing a lot of interest”

Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin safety Hylton Stubbs committed to USC on March 24, just days after a weekend trip to Los Angeles. The Trojans continue to be the leader in his recruitment, but he is still giving others a chance.

“I’m feeling pretty good about USC,” Stubbs told On3. “They’re putting in the work to strengthen their defense, they got the right coaches on board and their connections in LA are solid. It looks really good in my eyes. My commitment to USC is strong, but I want to make sure I’m making the right decision.”

Florida is not going away. He was back at the Swamp not long after committing to USC. The Gators are expected to receive an official visit. Miami is another one to watch. He will officially visit the Hurricanes on June 21.

“Florida has always shown a lot of love and I just have to wait to see how the season plays out. Miami has been consistent too and I had a great time the last time I was down there.”

The only other official visit Stubbs has locked in is to USC on May 31. He is eyeing an official visit to Florida on June 14 after the OT7 Finals the weekend of June 7.

Other schools remain in the mix for the No. 104 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.

“A lot of schools are still showing a lot of interest,” Stubbs added. “Outside of Florida and Miami, Florida State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Clemson, and Tennessee are all staying on my radar too.

“I am planning to schedule official visits to Auburn, Florida and Florida State. The dates are still up in the air.”
