Tyreek Hill intensifies criticism of Micah Parsons, calls him ‘new Drake’
It’s not clear when, or how, or why, Tyreek Hill developed animosity for Micah Parsons but it’s definitely intensifying. After the two went back and forth two weeks ago over Parsons’ meeting with retired former All-Pro lineman Andrew Whitworth, Hill once again went after the Dallas Cowboys star on Twitter on Monday night.
The Dallas defender has made his NBA fandom known over the years but during this year’s playoffs, he’s thrown around his support from the 76ers to the Celtics.
He’s received criticism from Cowboys fans at times when he’s expressed interest in any team without Dallas attached to his name but Hill went so far as to call him the “new Drake” over his antics. In 2016, Time Magazine documented Drake’s NBA fandom with a story titled: ‘A Brief History of Drake as an NBA Bandwagon Fan.’
“At this point Micah parsons the new drake,” Hill tweeted with a laughing emoji.
“Cheetah love me man!!! Idk it’s kinda crazy!!” Parsons responded.
At least this time, Parsons didn’t bring Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa into the mix. After their last interaction, the Cowboys edge rusher let Hill know who would pay for the disrespect in the end.
“Yeah ! Keep up with them Twitter fingers only person will pay is tua!!!” Parsons tweeted with laughing emojis. “I’ll see you Christmas Eve!! There only going to be one grinch who stole Christmas!!”
Parsons swaps jerseys after Jayson Tatum callout
After Celtics star Jayson Tatum called Parsons out for wearing a 76ers jersey at one of the games, Parsons opted for a Boston jersey during the next season. He defended himself, posting: “If you want to know why I put a Celtic jersey on this is why!? Showing love to one of the best players in the league!”
Prior to that post, Parsons claimed “starting next year” he’ll support just one team. As one of the league’s most “online” personalities, the former Penn State star is clearly aware of the growing perception of him. However, he’s also very capable of laughing at himself.
Parsons returned to Dallas for OTAs this week after spending much of the offseason working out in Austin. He skipped voluntary team workouts to train in Austin where he was “bulking up” his frame to 252 pounds.
