Ty Evans becomes first player to hit five home runs in single College World Series

Despite facing a massive deficit late, Florida outfielder Ty Evans is going to leave Omaha having made a bit of history.

After belting a solo homer over the fence in the bottom of the seventh inning against LSU, Evans has now become the first player to ever hit five home runs in a College World Series final. He previously had hit two home runs in each of the first two games in the series.

During the entire regular season, Evans only hit four long balls.

Evans’ home run was the first time Florida had added to its lead since Wyatt Langford’s 401-foot two-run homer in the bottom of the first.
