Two veteran Nebraska athletic administrators no longer with department
Two veteran Nebraska athletic department administrators are ending their tenures this month.
Bob Burton and John Ingram, fixtures in the Husker athletic department since the 1990s, no longer will be with the school after April, a university spokesman confirmed.
Burton joined the staff in 1998 and his latest title was executive associate athletic director. He handled the facilities master plan for the athletic department and was the liaison to Haymarket Park. He worked with the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball club and helped set the budget for field and stadium operation costs and create strategic plans for the facility.
Burton also served as the sport administrator for the Nebraska bowling, men’s and women’s golf, men’s gymnastics and wrestling programs. His latest annual salary was $257,830.
Meanwhile, Ingram served as associate athletic director for capital planning and construction. His mission was to create championship-level facilities for athletic teams and help develop forward-thinking plans for future facilities. His annual salary was $137,730.
Garrett Klassy is also expected to part ways with the NU athletic department when his contract comes to a close this summer. He was hired in July of 2019 as senior deputy athletic director under previous AD Bill Moos. Following Moos’ retirement, Klassy served as the Huskers’ interim AD until the hiring of Trev Alberts.
Klassy’s salary was $355,250.
