Two-sport star in the house! 4-star WR BJ Gibson commits to Florida State

After the Garnet and Gold Spring showcase, four-star wide receiver BJ Gibson gave Florida State coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles’ staff some great news.

The dual-sport athlete, who excels in football and baseball, announced he has committed to Florida State after visits for junior day earlier this year and the spring game today.

“It feels like home. They always treat me the same. Since the first visit, they always treat me the
same,” Gibson said after his visit in January.

The Wilcox County (Ga.) High School prospect is listed as the 42nd-ranked prospect in the state of Georgia and the 54th-best wide receiver in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He is listed at 6 feet tall and 170 pounds.

Gibson is joining an already loaded 2024 receiver room. This includes four-star Tawaski Abrams, three-star Camdon Frier and four-star Lawayne McCoy, who committed earlier this week.

This is not only a huge pick-up for the Florida State football team, but baseball as well. Gibson was previously committed to Tennessee, mainly for baseball.

“I want to be able to feel like I’m at home when I’m on the baseball and football side of it. That’s how I’ll base my decision,” Gibson said back in January.

Other schools that were in the running for Gibson after his decommitment from Tennessee earlier this
year included Georgia, Auburn and South Carolina.
