Troy WR Chris Lewis announces he is cancer free after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma

College football got some of the best news a player could ever hear on Thursday evening. Troy wide receiver Chris Lewis announced that he is officially 100% cancer free. And finished with treatment. Lewis made the announcement on his Twitter page.
According to an article written by Pete Thamel of ESPN, Lewis spent 10-weeks in a chemotherapy treatment. The purpose was to decrease the chances of the cancer spreading and possibly even shrink the tumor. He received his chemotherapy at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama.
Lewis setup a GoFundMe in April to help deal with his expenses. It had a picture of him hauling in a catch against Kansas State. He was trying to raise $150,000 to help with the expenses related to his cancer treatments. As of Thursday evening, he had received 287 donations totaling $21,553.
