Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter headline group of players to sign with adidas ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

As the eyes of the football world get ready to turn toward Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft, adidas cashed in by adding to its athlete roster. A group of 12 athletes, headlined by Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter, jumped on board prior to the first round.
Hunter and Carter join Jalon Walker, Emeka Egbuka and Shemar Stewart as projected first-rounders to sign with adidas, the company announced Wednesday. The rest of the additions include Dylan Sampson, Elijah Arroyo, Nic Scourton, Maxwell Hairston, Shavon Revel, Jalen Royals and Nick Nash.
The 12 players join a decorated list of NFL stars to partner with adidas. That roster includes notable faces such as Patrick Mahomes, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Garrett Wilson, among many others.
“In order to continue accelerating our impact across football as a brand, we’ve partnered with the game’s top players and our latest rookie class is no exception,” said Aaron Seabron, adidas general manager of U.S. Sports and Creation Center Portland, in a statement. “These athletes exemplify the speed and explosiveness adidas Football is built on and we look forward to celebrating the impact they make on their new teams and on the overall future of the game.”
Hunter’s partnership with adidas began ahead of the Heisman Trophy ceremony when he announced he signed a deal with the company. He brought home college football’s highest honor shortly thereafter following a standout career at Colorado.
“adidas has been great in how they’ve supported me on my journey to the league,” Hunter said in a statement. “I can’t wait for everyone to see the exciting things we’ve got cooking for my rookie season as we bring speed and style together.”
Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter are top draft prospects
Many consider Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter to be the top two players in this year’s draft, which officially gets underway Thursday night with the first round. In ESPN’s Peter Schrager’s mock draft released Wednesday, Hunter came in as the projected No. 2 overall pick to the Cleveland Browns. Carter then went No. 3 overall to the New York Giants.
A bona fide two-way thread, Hunter totaled 1,258 yards and a Big 12-leading 15 touchdowns on offense while adding 36 tackles and four interceptions on defense as a cornerback. He isn’t shying away from his desire to play both ways in the NFL, although it’s worth seeing what that plan would look like.
Carter wrapped up his career by moving to the outside and anchoring the Penn State defense in 2024. He finished his college career on a high note with 68 tackles, a Big Ten-leading 24 tackles for loss and 12.0 sacks to set new career-highs in all three categories.
