Top Iowa targets in new On300 rankings for 2025

Several top Iowa targets made the cut when the new On300 rankings for the Class of 2025 came out today. In this update, we take a closer look at those prospects, where the Hawkeyes currently stand, and much more.

Starting with the most recent visitor, offensive tackle Owen Strebig checks in at No. 47 on the list. The 6-foot-7, 295-pound Wisconsin native was at Iowa’s junior day on March 5 and continues to stay in close contact with the Hawkeyes. Overall, he has made three visits to Iowa City during the recruiting process. There is no shortage of competition, however, as Strebig currently holds offers from Iowa, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Florida, Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, and Indiana.

At No. 104 on the list is Hawkeye legacy Iose Epenesa, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end from Edwardsville, IL. Epenesa’s father and two older brothers have all played at Iowa, so he has basically grown up around the program, but is still making sure to do his due diligence with the recruiting process. To date, Epenesa holds offers from Iowa, Miami, Oregon, Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan, Minnesota, Utah, Arkansas, Washington, Colorado, Auburn, Missouri, Kentucky, Kansas and Iowa State. Watching Epenesa on film, it is easy to see a comparison to his older, A.J. Epenesa, now with the Buffalo Bills.

Wide receiver Talyn Taylor, who has also been on campus several times, checks in at No. 65 on the list. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound Illinois native has made three visits to Iowa City over the past year and received his first offer from the Hawkeyes at their camp last June. Since then, his recruiting has really taken offer with offers now on the table from Notre Dame, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Michigan State, and Syracuse.
