Top 2026 tight end prospect Carson Sneed shows off new look at Tennessee camp

Class of 2026 tight end Carson Sneed is no stranger to Tennessee. The four star prospect from Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville is a frequent visitor to see Josh Heupel’s program on Rocky Top. His most recent trip was Saturday evening as he participated in the Night at Neyland camp. 

Sneed already has a Tennessee offer and didn’t have to prove anything to the coaches on Saturday. Sneed camped because there were things he wanted Tennessee’s staff to see about him.

“I just wanted to show my improvement over the past year. I know it’s been since last June that I camped. I just wanted to show what I have,” Sneed said.

“I have gotten faster. My route running has gotten better and I’m have gotten a lot stronger in the weight room and that’s showed up in my blocking.” 

The first thing that jumped about about Sneed was his physical appearance. Sneed has put on 20 pounds since last fall thanks to work and some natural maturing from the in-state product.

“I weighed in at 235 for camp. I sit between 235 and 240. I want to play this fall at 240-242,” Sneed offered. “I think I want leave high school around 245 and then when I get to college just the coaches and the strength staff take over.”

While Sneed’s physical growth is attention getter for college, Sneed feels his biggest improvement in in the passing game. 

“It was more about the top of my route footwork,” Sneed said of his off-season growth. “My footwork wasn’t the greatest but I have always been able to use my size to get open. I feel like now I had use more than just my size to get open.” 

Tennessee clearly position at the top of Sneed’s list and the instate product already has plans to return. 

“I have a couple of games I have scheduled to be here. I like it here that’s for sure. But I am still keeping an open mind about everything because anything can happen.” 

After opening his camp season at Tennessee. Sneed will see Auburn, Ole Miss and Ohio State over the next month as he is planning on camping at all three of them.
