Top 2026 QB Julian Lewis gets good look at Texas A&M

Carrollton (Ga.) 2026 quarterback Julian Lewis has photos of himself and Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher when the talented signal-caller was in grade school.

The talented rising sophomore now holds an offer from Fisher and the Aggies.

“I think I was like 10 years old,” Lewis said. “It’s cool being recruited by them now. Florida State was my first camp. So, it’s cool getting to talk to him as an actual recruit now.”

He recently returned to College Station to dig a little deeper into what Texas A&M had to offer.

Lewis was in College Station back on April 8 for his second visit with the Aggies. This time around, Lewis had his eyes on the program’s strength program.

“My main focus was talking to the strength staff,” Lewis told On3. “That’s kind of been my main focus lately when talking to these schools is talking to the strength staff.”

Lewis learned a lot about the Aggies’ approach to strength and conditioning.

From a strength point, they’re really educated on quarterbacks and that’s cool,” Lewis said.

Lewis has a lot of respect for Fisher’s history at the quarterback position. He coached Jameis Winston to a Heisman Trophy at Florida State. Christian Ponder and EJ Manuel were also first-round picks under Fisher’s tutelage in Tallahassee. Jamarcus Russell was the number one pick in the draft while Fisher coached at LSU.

Lewis is privy to that history.

“Coach (Jimbo) Fisher is a good quarterback guru,” Lewis said. “He’s up there with the quarterbacks. It was cool talking with him.”

Texas A&M has had a history of landing talented recruiting classes as of late. Lewis admits there’s intrigue to playing alongside a group of talented players.

“Recently they’ve done really well lately,” Lewis said. “They’ve had some good classes. You can build a great class out there. It’s been done. Their 2022 class was freakish. You can definitely go out there and build another one.”

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has in-state powerhouse Georgia leading the way for Lewis at the moment. The Bulldogs have a 35 percent chance of landing the talented rising sophomore according to RPM.
