Top 20 Tounde Yessoufou updates his recruiting talking Arizona, Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, and others

Tounde Yessoufou is the No. 15 overall player in the updated 2025 On3 150. The 6-foot-5 small forward averaged 32.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game for Santa Maria (CA) St. Joseph this high school season. Yessoufou is currently the No. 3 overall scorer on the Nike EYBL Circuit. He is averaging 22.0 points on 53 percent shooting for the Team WhyNot program.

“I would say I can basically do everything on the floor now, whatever my team needs to win,” Yessoufou told On3. “I can shoot, attack the basket, post up, defend all the positions, rebound, set up teammates. I’m reading the game well and playing at my pace. I want to show everyone who I am. I feel like a lot of people have been sleeping on my name, so I wanted to come out during EYBL and destroy everyone.”

On3 was able to catch up with four-star Tounde Yessoufou at the Pangos All-American camp to discuss the latest in his recruitment.

“I have not taken any official visits yet,” Yessoufou said. “But I am going to Arizona on June 16.”

Yessoufou breaks down Arizona

“The coaches are sticking out to me for Arizona. They have a great personality and I have a great relationship with them. They know how to talk to me, they come to my games, my practices, and sometimes come to just talk to me as a person. It feels good to be around them and I like their personality.

“I think they play really tough and really fast, and that is what I like. The atmosphere there is amazing. They’ve surrounded the program with great people and great teammates. With everything there, it feels like they’re all a family. And that is what I love about the program. I like everything about the program.”

Tounde Yessoufou talks recruitment

“I’m talking with USC, Stanford, Kansas, and Kentucky about visits,” Yessoufou said. “I will probably go see Tennessee in the summer too.”

TENNESSEE: “I’ve been watching all of their games. I feel like they’re a really tough team to play against. They play fast and their defense is impeccable. And honestly, that is my style of game. They play fast, they have shooters, they kick it out, and play defense. I like that.”

STANFORD: “It’s the atmosphere there. It is a great atmosphere for a school. The new coach there, Coach (Kyle) Smith is talking to me and he has a great personality. I have not met them in person yet, but I’m planning on going to see the campus. Academically, it is a great school to be around. The education is my number one priority above sports, the ball will stop bouncing eventually and you have to focus on an education

USC: “Coach (Eric) Musselman’s energy sticks out for me, he just has a great energy. It’s rare to see coaches who have great energy like that, coaches who can get the best out of all their players. I like him because every time we talk it is always about how to make players better and how I can improve my game.”

KENTUCKY: “Right away when I talked with Coach (Mark) Pope I saw that he has a lot of energy. I mean, I like him a lot, and he has the experience. He used to be a Kentucky player and in the NBA, so he has the experience. And a lot of coaches like that you can learn a lot of things from them. He tells me how much he likes how I play, how I try to dominate each time I step on the floor, defensively and offensively. He likes the intensity I bring and even when I’m tired how I keep pushing myself.

KANSAS: “Coach (Kurtis) Towsend is great people. Every time after my games we talk about how I played, he calls me a little Jimmy Butler. I fit in with them the way they play defense and they play fast and push the ball. They play through their points guards and their point guards know how to spread the ball around.”

“A couple of schools that haven’t offered that I’ve been talking to are Baylor and Michigan,” Yessoufou said.

In his words

“I’m probably going to start scheduling these other visits for after Peach Jam and into the beginning of the school year,” Yessoufou said. “I haven’t really started to think about when I’ll commit yet, so I’m not sure if I’ll sign early.

“Having a great relationship with the coach is going to be the biggest factor for me. Having that relationship means a lot to me. When you have a great relationship with the coach I feel like you can win anything. I feel like all the coaches recruiting me know my style of game and that I will fit in with all the schools talking with me.”
